Singing and dancing

September 6, 2011

A pleasant yet compelling article from Tim Bajarin at PC World, depecting why there’s no such thing as ‘tablet’ market, just ‘iPad’. The short article sums up pretty much everything on why every tablet makers out there don’t understand the real secret recipe to Apple’s success:

When Apple first introduced the iPhone, a senior Apple exec laid it down on the table and asked me what I saw. I told him I saw a device with a blank screen, which was exactly what he wanted me to see. When powered off, it carries very little value, but when turned on, the magic of the software and services materializes. The exec illustrated Apple’s role as a software company. It is the software that makes this screen sing and dance.
