Hasty Larry

November 10, 2011

Claire Cain Miller from The New York Times ran a story on what the new Google CEO Larry Page tried to do with his company’s biggest threat; Google itself. It’s an interesting background story, especially the part where Google’s previous management was called “three-headed monster” because it took all of the three (Larry, Sergei Brin and Eric Schmidt) to agree on something before it gets done.

The story goes on with how Larry is now becoming more like Steve Jobs, he is more attentive to detail than Google’s former CEO before him, taking decisions directly on the spot, but what I like more of the now Larry is his taste for ‘greater’ products than just mediocre ‘good’, just like Steve did:

“We’ve launched some weaker services, honestly,” Larry said. “We don’t want to be left with a complicated array of good-but-not-great services.”
