Too late

November 24, 2011

Nice finding by Aayush Arya from The Next Web, Adobe has issued a lengthy document on proper use of the ‘Photoshop’ trademark:

 Trademarks are not verbs.

Correct: The image was enhanced using Adobe® Photoshop® software.
Incorrect: The image was photoshopped.

Just like we all have been accustomed to use ‘google’ as a verb, ‘photoshop’ has fallen to the same fate. I’ll say it is a compliment, but those big companies have trademarks to worry about. I’m afraid it’s already too late.
