The difference

December 10, 2011

There have been a lot of talks about the newly released Google Currents, most have said how Currents design heavily borrow the already famous Flipboard app. Both app looks like have the same flow of work, but fundamentally they’re different. I’m quoting from Steve Kovach from Business Insider who nails describing  it:

Currents is all about curated content and finding you the best stuff on the web to read. Flipboard is mostly about pulling in links and articles your friends are sharing on various social networks or from your RSS.

Another way to look at it: if you’re lazy to find stuffs to read yourself then you’ll prefer Flipboard, but if you’re an active and avid reader then you’ll like Currents better.
