Mike Isaac reporting on the widespread issues surrounding the new iPhone 5:

Many users report that the most easily damaged area appears to be on the chamfered edges of the device, wearing away the anodized surface and creating a “shiny” look, as the uncoated metal peeks out from underneath the undamaged surface.

The answer is just around the corner, as according to a report from the New York Times: Foxconn factory is closed after worker riot, not long after the iPhone 5 shipped. The cause is not stated in the report, but it’s not that hard to deduce what made them angry.

There’s no other way than to say it; they rushed the iPhone 5.
