Jeff Bezos bought Washington Post

August 7, 2013

Everybody’s trying to decipher the real intention of why Jeff Besoz, not Amazon, suddenly bought Washington Post with his own savings. They all are trying to hard, they actually lost in their own theories.

Jeff’s true passion is at Amazon, the company is his life and love. Everything he did elsewhere is for the good of Amazon, and it’s obvious he has planned this purchase quite a long time ago, it shows in his carefully drafted letter to Washington Post employees.

One of Amazon’s main business (that is only going to get bigger in the future) is selling e-books, so far Jeff has cunningly managed to secure most of big book publishers to stay with Amazon’s tight terms. But it’s a different story with electronic newspapers, and Jeff knows he need to take control before things got a bit out of hand like the DoJ case against Apple recently.

This is a long term plan, and Jeff made one good move.
